What age do you start training? The day you bring your new family member home. Our behavior modification process addresses problems such as housebreaking, chewing, jumping, etc. These are problems best addressed while the dog is young. How old is too old to start training? Your dog is never too old to begin a training process. The obedience portion will be much faster because you are not working with the limited attention span of a puppy. Behavior problems will be more of a challenge because the dog has been allowed to mature with the behavior. This does not mean that the problems can't be solved, only that it requires a bit more effort. What kind of things does your training cover? Our basic program includes all obedience commands; come, sit, heel, down, wait, and more. We also cover any and all behavior problems; housebreaking, chewing, jumping, mouthing, stealing trash and food, to name only a few. We also poison-proof every dog in the process. Showing the family how to gain and maintain leadership is an important part of our program as well. Socialization groups are also included. We hold our group meetings at various locations such as parks, veterinarians offices, and pet stores, places you normally would take your dog. This makes the groups more effective because they are real life situations. You can schedule your appointments at times that are convenient to you. including evenings and weekends. We are available to our members 24 hours a day 7 days a week to answer any questions you might have. In addition to the basic program, we offer off-leash and personal protection training. What methods do you use? We use positive reinforcement, no chain chokers, shock collars, pinch collars or treats. We use the love and affection you already have for your dog to motivate him. How long does your training last? Our program offers unlimited instruction. We don't like to put a time limit on the process because we are working to solve behavior problems along with teaching obedience. Every dog and family are different and we allow for that. We also offer a lifetime guarantee. “If at any time during the life of your dog, or as long as you own it, should it regress on any training received, we'll retrain at no charge.” I'm a busy person, how much time do I have to work with my dog every day? The initial phases of training include weekly homework assignments, so it depends on what you are working on. We like to emphasize to people that it's not the amount of time you spend with your dog, but what you do with that time that matters. Our goal is to teach you and your family a new way to interact with your dog. We can help you fit what your are learning with your dog into your everyday activities. Of course, as with everything in life, you get out of it what you put into it. How do get more information?
